AVFoundation video preview is darker than native camera app

I use AVFoundation to create video frames. The problem is that the frames look darker than in the application for the native camera, especially in dark areas.

As I see it, the built-in application for the camera (iOS 8) constantly performs some settings (ISO, shutter speed) and constantly accepts itself in environmental conditions (it seems that in low light conditions it slows down the shutter speed rather than increasing the ISO).

I can not do my preview video. I tried setting the exposure mode to AVCaptureExposureModeContinuousAutoExposure, but it does not have the same effect.

IOS 8 introduced a number of improvements for image capture, and I have no doubt that the native application does not rely on some of them.

If you have access, this Apple sample reveals all the new features (white balance, ISO, shutter speed, etc.).

You will need to combine several of these options to replicate the built-in auto exposure, which is unlikely to match the built-in exposure.
