I have IPython laptops running on the server and I edit / prototype them locally. I use rsync to push my local laptops when I'm ready to show them to others.
The problem is that when you open all these laptops, you can easily accidentally edit things on server laptops instead of local ones. Is there a reasonable mechanism to prevent accidental editing of laptops? I still want to be able to run server laptops, and they still need to be able to write output — I just want to somehow lock them so that they cannot be edited.
