SDN 3.3.0 or SDN 4.0M1?

Currently, starting a new Java project with Neo4j (2.2, probably) an external server as the primary database, we decided to use SDN. This will be a one-year project with several interim releases. We are wondering if we should upgrade to the current version (3.3.0) or the latest version 4.0.0.M1.

Considering this GraphAware article , the previous https://stackoverflow.com/a/165129/5/ (Michal Bachmann and Michael Hunger) and referring to the SDN 4.0.0.M1 migration section :

  • What would be the best choice today?

Personal consideration: I would definitely go for 4.0.0M1 with the improvements made, but then the question evolves:

  • When (approximately, of course) will the SDN4 version “ready for production” be / should / be released? The answer 1 month ago was around May, any update about this?

Finally, we decided to start with the current version (3.3.0) of the SDN, which implies the use of Neo4j 2.1.7 for compatibility issues.

Given the release of SDN 4 in the near future, we will decide when the time comes if we move from 3.3 to 4 depending on the effort required for such a migration.

When are you planning your first release? We hope to get SDN4 GA in the near future (within one to two months). If this is normal with you, I would start with this.

, , , SDN3 , Neo4j + Server + Cypher SDN.
