How to find out what technologies the program uses?

As a developer, I am interested in the question of which technologies / frameworks are best suited for building applications. The final answer is to see what the best (in my opinion) applications use. However, none of them disclose this on their About page. This is a parody. Congress must pass a law requiring this. (No, seriously, this will help the economy.)

In a brief Google search, a utility for this did not appear. Does anyone have any clues?

Things I want to know: platform (Native, .NET, Java, AIR), GUI tools (WPF, Silverlight, Swing, JavaFX, various native), fundamental libraries (DI containers, persistence, etc.), etc. .d. etc.

For example, I assume that Rosetta Stone uses Adobe AIR. I just started using the Ebay Turbo Lister today, and both are impressed by its sophistication and bewildered by its unusual style. What is he using?
