I want to create one tag for several commits (merged branches).
Can we group several commits into one tag, please help me with this.
What you are trying to do is impossible. A tag, like a branch, can point to a maximum of one commit.
we can add a tag with only one commit id git add tag -a v1.0 [commit id]
