Atom git-diff does not work on Mac machine

I am using Atom on a Mac. Whenever I click alt+g up/down, it just inserts the © symbol, and does not show the next diff. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Pressing alt+ gon a Mac inserts a character ©.

Pressing alt+ gon Atom on a Mac delays inserting a character ©for a second. If you press the ▲or key ▼during this time, the insertion of a character ©will be prevented, and the cursor will move to the previous or next diff in your file.

All this is just a matter of time.
