Android for finger or finger detection

I am working on a beating application. When you put your thumb or index finger on the camera, count the user's heart rate. So, right now, if you put something on the camera, it starts calculating its pulse.

Now I want to superimpose some detection on this so that it only calculates the heartbeat when the user points a finger at it.

So how can I achieve this? any guidance or help?

I don’t think you can detect a finger for 100% of the time. But when the user clicks on the camera with your finger, you can check if the color is red, but then any thing, red, will be a positive detection (false positive).
