Using EAnnotation in ecore

Question

Can someone explain the use of EAnnotation in ecore, in terms of its specific fields (i.e. Source, Details, EModel Element, Content and Recommendations). I looked at its API here , but could not get much from there.

I am looking for a kind of guide to explain with an example what the purpose of creating annotations with such fields in ecore is.
