I am developing a website that is designed for a large number of large images like background.
I also use media-queryit because it needs to be responsive and have a different background for each screen size. The total size of the images themselves 10 MB eliminates small images, which can have a size of up to 300 KB .
scripts(bootstrap, jQuery and custom js), styles(bootstrap and my custom css) and HTMLless than 1MB .
In conclusion, I load a more or less 11 MB webpage, it’s just an index page. Assets are already compressed and placed in a CDN on my server.
My problem here is when someone visited the website for the first time, it takes too much time to load the page, especially when the visitor’s internet connection is slower than the standard. To load the entire page in worse cases, more than a minute takes a little more than 20 seconds , and obviously something is wrong.
Is there a reasonable or standard size for one web page? I also use symfony2, maybe there is a plugin or similar that can help me.
Here, by the way, is the site. LINK Thank you.
