Understanding DataTorrent with an Example

Question

I have to work on DataTorrent and look for articles / documentation to go through. I could not find detailed documentation about what operators are, how they are used to process our data, and the MALHAR library that is used in operators (not sure about this part). Can someone help me in understanding DataTorrent by offering links to it?
