Password protected site hosted on Google Cloud Storage

We have a static website hosted on Google Cloud Storage. We would like it to be password protected. Is there a way to do this with Http basic auth?

No. It seems like there is no need to use basic HTTP authentication.

From what I see, there are no provisions for using a password-protected website in GCS. The file is .htaccessnot recognized and gsutilthere are no commands that can be used to control this access.

There are other methods to ensure data confidentiality and provide access methods for GCS, but they do not match the underlying HTTP protocol.
