How to reduce project folder size for Android Studio

I moved the project from Eclipseto Android Studio.

The Eclipseproject had a size of about 400MB.

After the transition to the Android Studioproject exploded before 1.8GB.

How can I reduce the size of the project?

Are there any temporary files that are not automatically deleted?

Just open a command prompt in the root folder of the projects and run the following command:

gradlew clean

Please note that you receive a bit of an unexpected message:

BUILD SUCCESSFULLY.

This simply indicates that it has passed and successfully cleared the intermediate files.
