Where does Internet Explorer keep a history of form data that is used for automatic completion?

I need to make a tool that cleans up IE form data.

Is there an API for this?
Or what registry keys?

Data autofill is stored in the registry in two places:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ IntelliForms \ Storage1 HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ IntelliForms \ Storage2

Direct manipulation is not supported.

Technically, IE7 + API for this:

rundll32.exe inetcpl.cpl, ClearMyTracksByProcess 48

Take a look at Clear All History . This is the tool you need, what you need.

You will find similar open source tools. Try to find them on Google.

In Hindsight, you'll also want to check out CCleaner . Its free software and an equally fantastic tool to keep, among other things, your story on the Internet.
