Decimal field task in the table hive Parquet

I have a hive parquet table with a type field

decimal (10,2)

Now, when I read this table in pig, using parquet.pig.ParquetLoader, decimal field is getting converted to bytearray and giving junk values. Is there a solution to this problem?

We wrote a cusotom ParquetLoader in which we extended the LoadFunc class and implemented the cases we wanted to handle decimal places.
