Maven Wont Build Project

When I run the project, I get a compilation error. I think I did something wrong in pom.xml. I tried to create a sample project with spring and added dependencies on spring examples. I get an error when I select maven build with the goal of a "clean install". I am using Eclipse Luna.

When I run, I get an error, for example below, that it cannot find the spring class.

I think the problem is that you are using the spring-context scope as runtime:

</dependency>

This means that you are telling maven that spring-context is not required at compile time, when it really is.

Try changing the scope for compilation (which is the default scope):
