Cannot find Microsoft Dynamics CRM fetch type in SSRS

I am trying to create a report in SSRS (Visual Studio 2012) for Dynamics 2011 using fetchXML. I downloaded and installed the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 report authoring extension (with support for SQL Server Data Tools), but I can’t find the export type of Microsoft Dynamics CRM when trying to create a report, please have any suggestions?

Perhaps you are trying to create a report in some existing project, in this case I had the same problem with VS2010.

To make the Fetch XML data source visible, you must create a new project in Visual Studio. If all the installations were successful, you should be able to create a project using the Business Intelligence / Report Server Project project template, than create a new report in the report data window (if it does not appear automatically - just click on any place in the report, go to the menu “View”) and find the “Report Data” window), right-click on the datasets, and then select “Use the dataset built into my report”, click the “Create ...” button next to the data source and you will see Microsoft Connections Microsoft Dynamics CRM Fetch.

You do not have the opportunity to test this on VS2012, I hope this helps.

As far as I know, the latest version of SQL is SQL 2012 and BIDS, since it runs using VS2010. Therefore, the answer is quite simple - you cannot create a report using VS2012, you will have to use VS2010.

You are missing the Reporting Extension . Install them and FetchXML will be listed.

If you upgraded to a later version of CRM from this post, just search this extension installer version (2013/2016/2016).
