Android studio version for Mac OSX 10.7.5

I tried installing the latest version of Android studio on my OS x 10.7.5, but AVD requires 10.8.5 or higher to 10.9. It is impossible to update OSx right now, instead we decided to get a working version of Android-studio.

What version of Android studio will work on Mac OSX 10.7.5?

There are three options for what I see here:

  • You install ubuntu (I recommend Linux Mint 17.2 "Rafaela" - Xfce RC (32-bit) , since it is lighter on your processor and RAM) and dual boot . You do not need to update Mac OS 10.7.5, it will remain intact, but you will boot Linux to develop applications for Android. There you can install an updated version of Android Studio without any problems.

  • Go with the previous Android solution: Eclipse IDE Indigo or higher + ADT bundle plugin . Check which version of the JDK works on 10.7.5, install it, then install one of the eclipse versions from Indigo to Mars and then install the above plugin.

  • You can try downloading and launching the first beta version of Android Develop Studio that has ever appeared on the website (0.8. 0), I don’t think they ever supported 10.7.5, but you can try.

My suggestion is to try installing linux (point 1) (possibly with a friend's help) because it is important to have the latest SDK and the latest updates. + This is easier to work with.
