Failed to create AVD with sdk for Android on Mac OS

I installed Android Studio and JDK1.8 on Mac OS. I followed the instructions and created a new application with API 15 at least sdk.

I tried to create an AVD from the AVD manager to test my application, choosing as a target to create a new virtual device -> nexus 6-> lollipop 22 armeabi_v7a android 5.1.1. When I click the end, it returns me to the first screen of the AVD manager without any errors, and the AVD is not created.

Where could the problem be?

First you need to download the SDKs of interest from the menu Android Studio Tools → Tools → Android → SDK Manager or enter image description here in the menu bar.

Do not forget to install the intel x86 haxm emulator accelerator from the SDK manager - this will significantly speed up your Android virtual device.

Then continue as you mentioned in your question.

You can find more information here .

EDIT: from the comments, your version of OS X 10.7.5 and Android Studio runs on 10.8.5 , so you either:

  • Update your OS X installation.
  • Install Eclipse and use google's ADT plugin in your current configuration.
