How to view multiple projects in one window in IntelliJ IDEA IDE?

In the Eclipse IDE, you have the concept of "workspaces" that makes it easy to manage projects in one sidebar and makes it easy to switch between projects.

As I understand it, IntelliJ does not have this function, because every time I open a new project, it always asks to either open in another window or in the same window? And in the latest version, it redefines my existing open source project.

You're right; IntelliJ simply does not have this functionality. Each project opens in one window, either overwriting the current window or creating a new window.
