Will MySQL support DATETIMEOFFSET?

I am currently using a shared hosting plan, and I'm not sure which version of MySQL it is using, but it does not seem to support the DATETIMEOFFSET type.

Is there a version of MySQL that supports DATETIMEOFFSET? or are there plans for its implementation in the future?

As far as I can tell, the DATETIMEOFFSET type DATETIMEOFFSET specific to Microsoft SQL Server. It is not part of the SQL standard and is not supported by the current or previous version of MySQL.

The closest equivalent to this data type in MySQL is the TIMESTAMP data TIMESTAMP . This data type retains absolute date and time to microsecond accuracy, but does not include the time zone. (The saved timestamp is always stored in UTC.)
