Hindi Fonts in JasperReports

Question

Internal preview of Hindi fonts is displayed correctly. But in Pdf this is changing.

Example: पिता. In pdf it shows प िता

How to resolve this.

Special characters, such as Hindi characters, will be supported by several types of fonts, such as Arial Unicode MS:

To solve this problem, open the Ireport constructor and apply the following properties to the report:

• Font Name = "Arial Unicode MS".
• PDF font name = This property is deprecated, so leave it blank.
• PDF Encoding = 'Identity-H (Unicode Horizontal Recording)'.
