How to use a 10-section track format on a USB disk

I am programming an extractor / manager diskette for an old synthesizer / keyboard tool (made in the 1980s). My problem: this software must support USB floppy drives. It must read and write images in 10-sector track formats. But USB floppy disks support only 9 or 18 sector track. I could not find a way to control this with my software (it seems to be hard-coded into the firmware of the drives).

Has anyone successfully done this before? I would appreciate any tips

If the track format is not a standard PC format, this will not work. You will need to create your own floppy controller to read a disk with a different format.
