How to customize alt-text image using pandoc to convert docx

When exported to docx, pandocsets the image label as the title. Is there a way to set alt text other than the title?

Context

We are creating Markdown documents that we want to convert to PDF using Pandoc.

I installed BasicTeX and conducted several tests with the following label:

# This is the title

This is a paragraph.

![This is an image](image.jpg)

This is another paragraph.
