How does the CLR know the type of a variable [unboxed] Value Type at runtime?

Question

Since [in an unboxed state] value typean object is pushed onto the stack and does not contain a reference to it Type, how does the CLR know it at runtime?
Is there any table with this information for all variables managed by the CLR?
