How to stop Google Cloud Datalab

Question

Playing with data is a joy in Junyper / Datalab, but I do not want this to become expensive.

Google recommends :

"You can minimize settlement costs by stopping / restarting Cloud Datalab instances."

However, if I stop the instance of AppEngine or the instance of VM Compute Engine, they just restart ...

So, how to properly stop / pause Google Cloud Datalab, so that I get paid only for my use, and not for downtime? Is there some kind of trigger that restarts instances?
