Run a generalized azure virtual machine

I am working on azure deployment. I use some templates from github that create a certain number of virtual machines based on the "main image", put them in a load balancer and provide access to them through RDP and ports.

Now it all works great. I create my image, then run sysprep and generalize it, close it and click on 40 copies.

The problem I am facing is what to do if I want to update the "main image"?

This will not allow me to download it, because it says that it is generic. And it’s not easy for me to set up a new vm and connect the OS drive “not sure if this is the right way”

Does anyone have any suggestions? I come from VMware VDI, where I just download the wizard, make changes, complete and uncheck, and redeploy.

I also use the new Azure interface, which I think is called AzureRM.

Well, its not very, but it should work:

Create a new copy. make changes, then prepare the sysprep / oobe process again, finally summarize and write down.
