The Visual Studio 2015 community will not log in. How to fix it?

Whenever I open Visual Studio Community 2015, it asks me to renew my license. This will not allow me to download the updated license, because every time I try, it tells me to check my network or proxy. I do not have a proxy, and my network is fine.

In addition, when I click on the “Add Account” button, which is supposed to allow me to add an account, a window appears with the message “Failed to initialize the configuration system”.

When I press the login button, the login window appears, but it immediately disappears, then the program crashes.

I am afraid this is something with your particular machine. Given that you cleaned the computer and did a full reinstall of the OS and tried using the new Microsoft account , there is no rational why it does not work in the general case.

I tried these steps and it worked. You might want to repeat the clean-reinstall-reregister steps again if something went missing last time.

As a personal note, I can safely point out that this should not happen. Definitely not for good people like us. :)
