Boxplot: colors by x value and hues differentiated by pattern

Question

Say I have a boxplot as shown below:

I would like to get a different color:

• Fri, Satand Sunwill be painted blue; Thurwill be painted red

• I would like to distinguish between shades with a picture in the box (lacking or something)

I can not find a way to do this manipulation using the palette of a sailboat.

I know that I can mess with boxplot boxes in matplotlib directly, but the sea wave is returning axes to me. How can I get the fields in this case?
