Unable to update application in the store due to target api23 (no downgrade possible)

Question

long story short:

• I have an application in the store downloaded using target (!) Api23
• Now I have to use the metaio SDK (Augmented Reality) to implement the function
• this SDK is no longer supported (the company bought and closed an apple).
• Metaio SDK crashes when using target api23
  • ... due to text movements in ffmpeg lib, in libavcodec.so, see also:
  • libavcodec.so: has text move

Problem:

• applications downloaded with the target api23 once cannot be updated with a lower api target
• metaio cannot handle api23 due to text forwarding error
