Should we remove security fixes after updating Plone?

Question

If the plone version is updated, should I remove the security fixes?

Hypothetical example:

• Plone X.4.4 has been working with Security Patch-XYZ since May 4, 2015.
• Plone updated to X.4.5, which was released after Security Patch-XYZ

I assume that security fixes are included in the next version. Should they be removed from our assembly?
