Difference between tomcat http-bio and ajp-bio threads

I went through a dump of a tomcat 7 application thread running on an Apache server. I saw topics with the names "ajp-bio-8009-exec" and "http-bio-8080-exec". What is the difference between the two? I know that AJP is a protocol that uses Tomcat BIO.
