HF-RFID vs. NFC - Can an NFC-enabled mobile phone read RFID tags?

I see a lot of forums that say RFID is different from NFC. I absolutely agree with this, since both have different standards and operate at different frequencies.

After some further research, I found that some RFID standards (HF-RFID) exist in the 13.56 MHz frequency band, which is the same frequency as NFC (see here ). However, I did not find anything that clearly suggests that the NFC and HF-RFID devices are compatible. In addition, I saw one online video where someone reads the HF-RFID tag using a Samsung NFC-enabled mobile phone.

I understand that both NFC and RFID use radio frequency.

My question is: can I read HF-RFID tags (13.56 MHz) using an NFC-enabled mobile phone?

Also, can an HF-RFID reader also use NFC tags to read?

Has anyone checked this and provided some link where he confirmed that this is possible?

NFC uses not only the same frequency range (13.56 MHz), but it is based on HF-RFID standards.
