Which versions of Windows Server comply with the RID Runtime .NET Core Runtime standard

In my file, project.jsonI am targeting the following runtimes of my .NET Core web application:

}

Which versions of Windows Server do the RIDs listed above match? The official documentation does not list them. In particular, which RID should be used for targeting:

  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2016

Typically, each version of Windows corresponds to one version of Windows Server.

  • Windows Vista - Windows Server 2008 - 6.0
  • Windows 7 - Windows Server 2008 R2 - 6.1
  • Windows 8 - Windows Server 2012 - 6.2
  • Windows 8.1 - Windows Server 2012 R2 - 6.3
  • Windows 10 - Windows Server 2016 - 10
