ASP.NET MVC 5 applications create very slowly

Question

I get into ASP.NET and I use MVC 5 to build my applications, while I follow some Pluralsight workouts. I noticed that in the video training the Visual Studio instructor builds very quickly, but on my computer, after I change something, every time I build it, it usually takes from 90 to 120 seconds to complete the assembly, and I can navigate my application in the browser.

My laptop is not super old or slow, as it has a Core i5 with 4 GB of RAM and an SSD. I tried to set the MvcBuildViews attribute to false , but the problem still persists. I am using Visual Studio 2015 Enterprise with Update 2.

Any ideas on what should be the issue?

It seems that this was a problem with updating Visual Studio 2015. 2. As soon as I installed “Updated 3”, it started building faster. I noticed that now IIS Express is not closed between assemblies, so now when I create MVC projects, I usually see the result in the browser in less than 20 seconds.
