Clear java cache from command line in linux

The title says it all. I need to clear the java cache (download the new version of the applet) from the command line and only on the command line without any GUI.

I tried something found here https://stackoverflow.com/a/4646266

javaws -clearcache

But it opens a graphical interface that brings me to the Java control panel window.

The window (displayed remotely on a Windows machine) does not change, and the interesting buttons from the "Temporary Internet Files" are not in the visible part of the window.
