What does it mean when a class style is grayed out in the Chrome style inspector?

Why is the next class (.productQuote) greyed in the inspector? I can’t edit it.

In the currently selected DOM node, this panel displays all the styles applied to this node. Styles with a gray background are read-only, the rest are editable.

Usually gray areas are highlighted for styles user agent stylesheetthat are styles defined by the browser provider. They are usually overridden by your own styles. You can use CSS Reset to normalize styles in browsers.
