Restore NuGet Packages in Visual Studios 2015 Does Nothing

I pulled my solution from SVN in Visual Studios 2015. I get errors in some of my “use” links inside the code, so I try to run the “Repair NuGet Packages” option by right-clicking on the solution in “Solution Explorer”. It does nothing. I need to manually go to the nuget manager and delete and then reinstall the elements. Why is this? How can I get “Repair NuGet Packages” to work?

You may not have enabled automatic packet recovery from the following section:

Tools -> Options -> Nuget Package Manager -> General Settings.

You can also try the following:

Update-Package -Reinstall

This code will force you to reinstall all draft solutions.

Look at the following information:

Migration of MSBuild-Integrated Solutions to Use Automatic Package Recovery

Hope this helps :)

Here's what works for me:

  1. Download the project from TFS (or, in your case, SVN).
  2. Delete the packages folder
  3. Make sure the “Package Manager Console” is enabled (Tools → NuGet Package Manager → Package Manager Console)
  4. Open the solution file.
  5. " " "". "".
