Android cannot connect to SignalR server via WiFi / LAN, but through 3G

Setup:

  • Windows operating system running on a SignalR self-service server.
  • Windows application with SignalR client.
  • Android application with SignalR client.
  • LAN with Ethernet / Wi-Fi. The SignalR server (1) is located on this local network. All firewalls are disabled.
  • 4G external network. (1) A SignalR server can be reached through a dedicated IP address.

Both 2 and 3 are both developed using Xamarin and use the same code and libraries associated with SignalR.

Test results:

  • Connection (2) Windows application to (1) SignalR server via (4) LAN: OK
  • Connection (2) Windows application to (1) SignalR server via (5) 4G: OK
  • Connecting (3) AndroidApp to (1) SignalR server via (5) 4G: OK
  • (3) AndroidApp (1) SignalR (4) LAN: .
  • Ping Android- (1) SignalR (4) LAN (5) 4G: OK
