IBM U2 (UniVerse 10.2) - Create a Scheme - How

We have a traditional UV account. Data files in one directory, applications, and routines in another directory. Our latest projects implement JDBC and for full access to routines from java, I believe that I need to create a schema on an existing uv account.

How can i do this? I tried to log in as uvadm and create a schema. You will get the following error:

CREATE A TEST DIAGRAM; UniVerse / SQL: "uvadm" is not a SQL user.

Can anyone help?

They are both administrators in the docs, but UniVerse Admin is just the one who has r / w perms for the base files used during creation (uvadm and / or root).

Who is the UniVerse Administrator?

To perform most administrative tasks, you must be registered as a UniVerse Administrator. On UNIX systems, UniVerse Administrators must log in as root or as uvadm. On Windows systems, UniVerse Administrators must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group. You can then use the UniVerse Admin and UniVerse Administration Commands to administer UniVerse.

However, the UniVerse SQL administrator is a person who has read / write permissions in the CATALOG. If you cannot create a directory, it is probably because you do not have r / w perms in the directory you are in, because the directory is just a file.

When you installed UniVerse, who did you say that the owner of uvsql is uvadm or root? The only way I know to solve this problem is to reinstall to allow uvadm answer, so all files in SQL will be properly configured and cataloged.
