How to disable Java web application?

We are developing Java Web-aps (Websphere, DB2) that display graphic and informational information. We would also like to offer the same application offline (distribution via CD / DVD) with online data update. We tried a number of alternatives in the past, but nothing was really stable. What are the new guidelines for using Web ap plus data (in a small database) offline?

I don’t know how well it works with the CD / DVD distribution, but the first thing that comes to mind is Gears . On the .NET side of the fence, there is Silverlight 2 . Then there is the Mozilla Prism project , although I do not know how advanced this is.

All of them are intended for not only offline access, but also for mixed use offline / online, when talking to the server when it is available and works locally when necessary.

I would suggest using Apache Derby as a database (also available as Sun Java DB and possibly IBM Cloudscape (does it still have DB2 compatibility?)).

, -/ Servlet. Apache Tomcat . Java. , WebStart .

EJB , . , Sun Glassfish - .
