How to enable multiscreen selection in WPF ListView by drag and drop?

Setting the SelectionMode property to Extended allows you to repeatedly select with Shift and Ctrl, but not by clicking and dragging. Setting the SelectionMode property to Multiple gives a sticky selection, which is not what I want.

You can extend ListView and ListViewItem to implement clicks and drag and drop multiposition behavior.
