What software tools did Apple use to create the iTunes Store?

I liked using the iTunes Store, but I wonder what it was designed for (PHP and MySQL, is something non-standard?).

WebObjects It ships with Xcode these days, but used to cost more than $ 50,000! Not sure about the database. I seem to remember reading that it was Oracle, but I have no source and maybe I just accidentally did it.

@ Stephen Darlington is right, this is WebObjects. WO code generates pure Java, which is further optimized. The code has been rewritten several times.

Interestingly, BYO's original website was written in WebObjects, a version of $ 50,000 back in 1996.

The iTunes store is a combination of many technologies, but the main one is Apple WebObjects. WebObjects is a powerful Java infrastructure that includes many mature technologies (templating, ORM).

WebObjects is free (correct me if I am wrong), can be installed on almost every platform and is not limited on MacOSX. WebObjects is mainly developed using eclipse and a plugin called WOLips. There is a very active community in this framework and development tools.

Yes, its webObjects, you can also use several database sources with WO, and you can combine other languages with it, such as JS and php

In fact, webobjects have been overlooked for some time, mainly due to its past price and that it was not well sold by an apple

I think that any answer you get will be 99% spec. I would argue that if someone really worked for Apple and had the facts, they were not allowed to share them.
