I have a report that works great in development preview. But when deploying, I get the following error:
In the Dev environment, an error message is displayed:
Error 4 Data source 'myDataSource' Cannot be found. c: \ reporting services projects \ Reports \ rest_of_path \ my_report.rdl 0 0
On the reporting services side, the error it shows is:
The data source connection information has been deleted. (RsInvalidDataSourceReference)
The data source itself deploys just fine and is present on the server, so it makes no sense that it "cannot find it." What's happening?
Ps I found a way to make it work on the server by manually assigning a link to the data source lost during deployment. But I would not do it every time I deploy a new report.
- go to report manager (http: ///reports/pages/Folder.aspx)
- Click on the folder in which you have reports
- U will be redirected to the content tab, where u will find “Show Details” in the upper right corner.
- Click "Show Details"
- Check a specific report and click the corresponding edit button.
- Go to the properties tab and click on it.
- U will find the menu on the left side, click the Data Sources link
- There u will find the switch selected for the shared data source (default) and browse button.
- Press the browse button u to find the tree structure of the data source and report folder.
- OK.
