Short, close URLs (for example, on this site) say a lot about good web development practice with the goal of good SEO (and possibly other reasons).
If so, then how many sites like Amazon and Facebook still have ridiculously long URLs on their pages (for example, about a section, etc.)?
Is there an engineering problem with implementing this functionality on a very large, real site? (I would suggest that it is best to plan and consider such things in the first place).
