Design a coutnry bounding box

I am wondering if there is a service to get a set of lat, long dots that when connected to the polygon display the outline of the country

Ideally, I would like to search by country and return an array of lat, long coordinates. Is there such a service?

Country names are mapped to FIPS country codes. This works well for all countries that do not cross the 180 ° meridian. Russia is a notable exception. This data set does not include the United States.

Yahoo! GeoPlanet , a service from Qaru that uses careers for its site , seems to be doing bounding fields.
