Order in SSRS report

My report should be sorted in ascending order of completion. I can receive the order in my T-SQL query, but when I fill it in the SSRS report, it does not seem to complete the order. I am using SQL Server 2008. and the date is in Varchar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the properties of your table (right-click, properties) and set the Sort property to completeDate in ascending order. You can also sort each group if you need to.

If you are still having problems, you can sort the field after converting it to a date:

=CDate(Fields!completionDate.Value)

Thanks to Nathan, I received a correction. I changed the sort property within the Group steps to CompletionDate, and now it works fine. The band used to be sorted by milestones. Just needed to change it to finalDate ..

You can also remove the sort that is automatically created for you when you group, and then you get the same Order that you get when you execute Query

becasuse you already have one sorting in the Query , so there is no need to sort it again in the report

There is a good entry over here regarding the grouping in which this removal is mentioned.

Your question helped, but then I went to Uninstall , which works fine for me
