"Good" score counter

I am working on a rails project and we are launching Flay . He got a score of ~ 1400, and I'm not sure what that really means. I know that 0 is perfect, but I'm not sure what a good goal will be and what a realistic upper bound for the project should be. Is there any good documentation on the scoring process and what is the end result?

There is a simple solution to this dilemma, which applies not only to Flay, but to all β€œbad” results: set the upper limit to any current account, and whenever it decreases, set it to a new value.

This way you guarantee

  • that your goal is realistic (because it will already be completed) and
  • that you only improve or in the worst case stagnate, but you never get worse.

Here is a link about the scoring process and how to reorganize the project to reduce its score. (I believe Flay is similar to Flog, the counting process should be similar)

Rail app complexity rating

Here is another, albeit old, link (2008) discussing the scoring system:

You can also look at Caliper , which is another Ruby metrics tool.

Hope this helps!
