Does anyone have experience with a private instance of Launchpad?

Has anyone already installed and launched the launchpad on their own server? I would like some advice because I could not find it on the Internet. In addition, the official team gives scary comments about having its own launchpad. They also say that many administration scenarios are not included in distributed sources and that the user must invent them themselves (then I decided that they actually do not want someone to have their own).

Although, I really want to have mine, this is for one private project developed from 2 to 3 encoders. I am going to rent a dedicated server with the corresponding Ubuntu server. But before I do this, I would like to know:

  • If I install one instance and continue to use this particular stable version (Iโ€™m sure that we wonโ€™t need to update and synchronize with the official launch pad upstream) there are huge risks, how to lose all the data?

  • Does this sometimes fail?

  • Does the development of a large number of admins. scripts?

  • Is the setup and initial configuration hard (or not yet documented)?

  • If you were me and would like to work with Bazaar, what platform for project management would you go to?

  • How does the backup system run?

I donโ€™t think anyone uses Launchpad other than Ubuntu. If you are wondering why I say this, please check https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/786212

You can use sloecode to host the bazaar branches and as andrewsomething said you can use loggerhead to view web code. Another option to consider is fusionforge.org. I think on Ubuntu you can apt-get that these days.
