How to list a LOCALIZED alphabet in C #?

First of all, this is not a duplicate: The fastest way to list the alphabet

Because I need to get all the characters of the alphabet ARBITRARY (variable) LANGUAGE and that in the correct ordering sequence.

How can I do this without knowing the alphabet of all possible culture / language? For example, System.Gobalization.Cultureinfo has information about the date format, sorting method, and code page. But not information about the alphabet itself. The iterator “A” to “Z” will not be executed because the German language, for example, has characters such as ÄÖÜ that are after “Z” in the numbering of the code pages, but follow aou when sorting.

Can I somehow use code pages to get all the characters and sort them somehow? By "all characters" I mean all letters, including numbers, but not punctuation. And maybe only the upper case is XOR.

First of all, let me say that I agree with what everyone else is saying. Do you think the é character is a valid US character in English? It is used quite often, but not in the usual "az".

However, here is the code (VB2010). This code calls the unmanaged function GetLocaleInfoW and queries the LOCALESIGNATURE structure, which contains the Unicode code point ranges. This information is used to determine which ranges are needed for a given font.

The Char structure does not support all Unicode code points, so the function returns a String . Find the " Surrogate pair " at the bottom of this link for more information.

This code does not do everything you want, unfortunately. For example, the often cited Finnish language does not have the letter W , but on Windows the character exists in the valid code point range. I don’t know how to go down to this.

I do not think the .Net infrastructure provides what you want. First of all, not all languages ​​have alphabets in the western sense of the word. Secondly, even if you limit your reach to those languages ​​that have alphabets, iterating through the contents of the code page will not work, because many code pages cover several languages ​​(for example, CP 1252 covers the main Western European languages). Third, some of the recently supported languages ​​on Windows do not have code pages. I do not think that there is a solution outside the a priori knowledge of the alphabets of the languages ​​of interest to you.

Perhaps if you explain what you are trying to achieve, you can offer a better solution.
