Automatically forward all email addresses in one domain to another domain

I had a good google search but I can not find the answer sorry ...

We are an Australian company that uses the .com address as our primary contact point. Unfortunately, sometimes people write to e-mail foo@ourdomain.com.au, and therefore the message bounces off.

I know that I can manually create entries to forward .com.au addresses to their .com equivalent, but this is not a particularly viable solution in the long run.

Is there a way to automatically perform this server-level mapping? We have root access, so I can configure everything that is required in this regard.

Repeating each time someone sends an email:

foo@ourdomain.com.au

he needs to forward

foo@ourdomain.com

and I would prefer to automate the display, as email addresses are added / removed fairly regularly.

We also use PLESK if that matters.

Thanks...

It sounds like you don’t need to forward at all. Just set the MX record for ourdomain.com.au the same as the MX record for our domain. Then configure your mail server to receive mail for both domains. The only case when this is impractical is if there are truly legitimate .com.au addresses that must be handled by a separate mail server.
